On the 13th Amendment

Slavery abolished 1488784_10151934160903947_907094539_nThis day in history, January 31, 1865, the 13th Amendment, which formally abolished slavery in the United States, was passed. This is a Civil War era photo of freed slaves.

…and, sadly enough, some folks STILL need a refresher course on this subject!
