…Every day, people hide behind such expressions.

“The check’s in the mail.”

“Call me. We’ll have lunch some time.”

“Count on me, I won’t let you down.”

…Every day, people hide behind such expressions.

I wish folks who’ve “strayed” from “friendships” would have the guts to be honest enough to say:

“Actually, I couldn’t give a damn!”

“I can’t be bothered with you  any longer so go on about your way!”

Perhaps, these latter two would cut like a knife.

Unexpected, it’s for sure the sting of such words would wrought pain or echo in the mind for a time, even provoke a future tear or two. But their honesty would clear the air, allowing confusion to dissipate like clouds and fog before the brilliance of the sun.

And, in the clarity of comprehension, folks would sooner or later get over the pain,

…and get on with living their life.
