From “I shut my eyes in order to see.”

I shut my eyes in order to see.
Paul Gauguin
French Post-Impressionist painter (1848 – 1903)
Words inspired by Gauguin’s quote:

Blinded, my eyes shut … to see me.
Baffled, my ears shut … to hear me.
Betrayed, my heart shuts… to save me.

Slowly, my eyes open…I see me.

Softly, my mouth opens…I hear me.

Shyly, my heart opens…I love me.

  1. emanita01 says:

Hey different drummer hearer, thanks for stopping by 😀

  2. This is lovely…

Also, Gauguin’s words reminded me of Antonio Porchia’s:

“Sometimes at night I light a lamp so as not to see.”
