A Thank You to All Those Women Who Have Gone Before

“On International Women’s day*, I just wanted to say thank you to all those women who have gone before me to forge ahead creating rights and privileges for the likes of me.

I cannot even imagine how difficult it has been for women in the past who have not known equality or had a voice in their lands, governments or homes.

I also want to thank the “feminists” for impacting the world and giving [me] some of the freedoms and independence that I now enjoy.

My life has been directly impacted by feminism. I can vote. I am educated. I have had a great career (two in fact). I have traveled to many places in the world. I have called my own shots.

Because of women’s hard work and philosophies, most men of my generation treat me as an equal.”
